What does the outcome of the November 2018 elections mean for activism, organizing and political strategy on the US left?
Join us for a post-US-midterms panel discussion in Berlin on Tuesday, Nov 27, starting at 20:00.
Can the new Democratic-majority House serve as an effective check on Trump and the GOP? Can the DSA and/or other progressive movements sustainably shift political discourse leftward? What new coalitions or cross-sectoral movements are emerging, or need to emerge?
We are honored to present as part of our panel:
Dr. Edna Bonhomme – Democratic Socialists of America member, activist and writer, postdoctoral fellow at Max Planck Institute for the History of Science
Carl Leinonen – global campaign and partnership coordinator, Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
Diego Rivas – chapter chair, Democrats Abroad Berlin
Boris Vormann – professor of politics, Bard College Berlin
The evening takes place at the CIEE Global Institute, Kreuzberg from 20:00 to 22:00. A short reception will follow.
**The talk will be in ENGLISH with possible German translation if needed. Please contact us with any special requests. info (at) the-coalition.berlin
